Big Brother 27- Night 1 Feeds

Cheers to us because we’re back in the Big Brother streets for season 27! I’ve missed being here with all of you and ready to get the feed recaps going. Y’all already know but I’ll say it anyway. Be patient with me on the first few since we didn’t get night 1 feeds. We’re all still piecing it together because of the things we’ve missed. (mistakes will be made)
Before I get into the feeds, I wanted to touch on the episodes. I love the house decor this season and the haunted/mystery hotel theme. Well, at least I thought I was going to, but then this happened:

I was originally thinking along the lines of Clue or Murder on the Orient Express but nope. Out popped the first draft for a Saw movie? What the hell was that? (Leave it to Big Brother to make it cringy and cheesy)
I’m also a little concerned about this too:

Has anyone check on the Survivor set? I think they may have blown it up!
It also freaked me out seeing Julie inside the house with the houseguests. How about you? Here she is with Zach as he’s making the most of that camera time.

Zach earned himself 10k which is alot for a Big Brother comp prize. We’ve found out he can use the money to basically force a bribe on the HOH if he’s on the block. (It’s like a 10k Veto) I’m glad he can only use it before jury but I do wish the HOH had a choice. I think it would be a more interesting dynamic if the HOH had to choose to accept the bribe. With this in Zach’s pocket, I think it’s safe to assume he’s made jury at least.
This is the first alliance acknowledged by production on an episode. (Jimmy, Mickey and Morgan)

It’s only two episodes in and I’m already living for Ava’s facial expressions. (This isn’t one of them) This is more the puppy dog eyes that caused Zach to give her safety this week. (It may be a good thing for her too since it sounds like she hasn’t had the best start to the game. Last night, I heard some chatter about her annoying people)

The cast seems ok so far and alot of them sound broke which could be good for us. Maybe they’ll actually want to win! As for houseguest 17…it was Rachel Reilly. (Not a well kept secret surprise by the way)

Many of the online sleuths figured out the clues dropped by production before the first episode aired so it wasn’t a shock to see Rachel. I was expecting her to appear but not sure how it would play out. (Personally, I was hoping she was a temporary twist, rather than an actual player) Nope, she’s a hg. I’m admittedly not a Rachel fan but I’m also open to kick back and see what happens.

However, I do agree with Jimmy as he seemed the most vocal about wanting to take her out. He didn’t look pleased at all to see her walk into the house. (I don’t think it’s smart he’s already being vocal about it though, since she’s safe this week. Patience dude!)

Rachel bonded quickly with Amy, the other mom on the cast, who also happened to be the secret accomplice. (I thought this was a dumb twist)

I know Rachel’s done alot of other reality tv, but it’s been a long time since she played Big Brother. She’s a bit older, is a mom and will need to play a different type of game than before. I’m going to try something new and instead of starting my usual complaining, I’m going to wait and see how it unfolds. (Look at me, it only took until my mid 50’s to mature. I’m a late bloomer!)
We’re starting with 17 houseguests because Amy, the accomplice wasn’t found out. (I’m surprised people didn’t listen to Lauren. I think she’s the only one that realized it would probably be a woman so that would keep the numbers the same for the amount of men and women if the accomplice was found out)
People are still a little suspicious of Zae since he got some votes but Riley’s in the clear at least. (You wouldn’t know it though because he still seems pissed he got the most votes) I get it but so far, he seems to have a bit of a bad attitude in general. Maybe it’s lack of sleep though. Who knows?

I am happy the Blockbuster twist is back. (Formerly the AI Arena) Whatever they’re calling it, I’m happy about it. Personally, I think it’s the best twist they’ve introduced since the power of veto in BB3.
Rachel is a have not this week and in return, she’s also safe from eviction. (Hey, it’s better than friendship bracelets) She chose to save Will, he saved Zach and as I mentioned above, Zach saved Ava. I liked the have not beds and thought it fit the house decor and theme.

After Vince won the first hoh, he put Amy, Zae and Ashley on the block. He’d made a deal with Ashley to keep her safe but went back on it.

As for shower gate, I’m withholding judgment on that one until we hear a bit more. (If we ever do) We all know how production likes to put their own spin on things, especially early in the season. I think it’s possible Ashley took a long shower, (but maybe not an hour and a half) and Vince just tried to please the house since her name kept coming up. It’s possible no one thought much about the shower but they realized Vince was going to need a reason to put people up and suddenly, the shower was that reason.

We also saw Kelly volunteer to go on the block. (Insane) Let’s hope it’s what she really wants because based on the feeds, that could come back to bite her on the ass.

Spoilers Below…
Sooooo, I may as well jump into the feeds and stop rambling about episodes you already watched. We knew Amy landed on the block because she was trying to keep Ashley off of it. (Not smart to let people know who you’re close to but whatever) Ashley and Amy had a little laugh last night over how Amy got herself nominated.

I don’t know yet if these two are an actual trio with Rachel, but the three of them seemed to be getting along well.

We also have the Veto results and the winner was….Ashley so Vince will have to make a replacement nominee. It was a long night and Vince was stressing over it. Kelly was still saying it was ok to put her up. (It’s doubly insane now since one of her chances to take herself off the block is gone)

We know an alliance has been formed called the Heavy Hitters. (Here’s where things are a bit murky for me so feel free to correct me in the comments) I believe it’s made up of Vince, Jimmy, Morgan, Zach, Rachel, Riley and someone else I’m forgetting. (Maybe Mickey? Maybe not, she may just be working with Jimmy and Morgan in the side thing)

Jimmy and Morgan are working together but definitely want different things this week. I don’t know if Vince told the group, but it’s known that Kelly volunteered for the block.

Morgan wants Kelly to go up but Jimmy wants it to be Keanu. At one point, Vince was tearing up. Maybe it’s the stress of the situation, maybe it’s fatigue, maybe both? Maybe this feels like a job and it’s been awhile?

I don’t know if it’s just first hoh fears or if Vince is a pushover but so far, he seems like someone that will do what the last person he speaks to wants him to do. I was convinced both Kelly and Keanu would be the replacement nom multiple times last night. Jimmy heard Keanu was pushing for Jimmy to go up so he’s on a mission to take Keanu out now.

Morgan talked some game with Keanu and maybe thinks she can work with him because she definitely wants it to be Kelly. I think Vince is fine with putting up Kelly since she offered but he doesn’t want her to leave. (He’s falling into that first HOH trap of trying to not piss people off. It’s week 1, go ahead and piss them off!)

The first week in the house can be intense so I don’t think they realize the first boot doesn’t usually matter all that much. Most people aren’t that invested in the other people during the first week. In my opinion, it’s actually the easiest week to piss people off and have them get over it quickly.

Keanu is off to a messy start. He discussed how many votes he would need, and is trying to get, to take out Amy this week. He did this in front of Rachel, while knowing Rachel doesn’t want to evict Amy. (It’s already known they’re close by the way) He also questioned Lauren about whether or not she’s into Zae. (Zae is very much into Lauren) Keanu continued questioning her after she said she wasn’t interested in talking about it. There’s also his trying to target Jimmy and not being very quiet about it. This all happened after he told everyone he didn’t want to talk game with anyone. (This might be a fun and messy cast)

Meanwhile, Zach is talking like he and Lauren are in a shomance already. (Yes, he uses the term shomance too)The problem is, he’s speaking to everyone about it…except Lauren. Zach also has strong opinions on floaters. (It’s the first week, no one is a floater) He wants to get rid of Amy because he said she’s a floater. He said she was just like Angela. Morgan corrected him and said Angela won comps and wasn’t a floater. Zach admitted he just didn’t like Angela. (That’s a real original opinion there buddy) Y’all know I enjoyed Angela and I know that’s a minority opinion too.

Anyway, after listening to Zach talk last night, it became obvious, his definition of floater is anyone he doesn’t like or doesn’t want to work with in the game. I missed part of it, but I think he even insinuated Rachel might be a floater. (Haha, thats like saying Kaysar wasn’t loyal and Raven was honest!)
There’s alot going on with Riley’s tattoo. Maybe we’ll get the story on it but it looks like we’ve got Jesus with part bat wing and part bird wing. (At least I hope there’s a story because otherwise, his tatto artist got confused and ripped him off)

Riley is annoying his new alliance by avoiding it. (Mostly Morgan) They wanted to meet up in the hoh room after people went to sleep. While in the backyard, he asked Morgan if he could just handle his part of the conversation right then and there. He said he didn’t want to go into the hoh room with a group of people. (He’s not wrong but he wasn’t very tactful in the way he went about it)

Later, he explained to Morgan why he didnt want to go. It included a lot of ‘I didn’t f**king come here for this, I have more opportunities outside of here and I’m just here for a good time’ type comments. (Real happy guy!)

Zae was in the hoh room alot. (Is he the 7th heavy hitter?) At this point, I don’t know if he’s with them, if he’s a target, if they were pacifying him, etc. He seemed to think he was part of the group even if he isn’t.
Rachel realizes they need to take out some strong guys so I’m expecting her to want to keep the target on Zae.

I’m expecting the replacement nom today to be either Kelly or Keanu. (Leaning Kelly) As I said earlier, it could depend on whether Morgan or Jimmy talks to him last. It could also depend on whether or not Vince gets a bit of sleep and realizes putting Kelly up would be stupid if she wants to work with him.
I’m sure I missed alot but I’m also rusty. I may need a few days to get back into the ‘staying up half the night’ sleep schedule. I also probably misspelled some names today, but I’ll get that figured out too. I’m also sure this post won’t look right because I’m rusty with Steve’s site too.
I plan on keeping close to my same schedule as last season. I’ll post the more in depth recaps on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. If Steve needs me to, based on his schedule, I may post something alot shorter on Tuesdays and Thursdays, which would mostly serve as a new chat thread. I still need to get with Steve and see what he wants but I’ll keep you posted.

I know it’s soon but let me know if you have any early faves, thoughts on how Rachel needs to navigate the season, etc. I don’t know about all of you, but I’m super glad we’re back and have a great Monday!
Mel
