Big Brother 27 – Thursday Ramblings 9/25

Good afternoon, everyone!

It’s the final Thursday in the Big Brother house, and we’re about to be set for the final 3 by the end of the night. There is a huge likelihood that it’ll be Ashley as there is really no reason to break up the alliance. Ashley and Ava are essentially the same person, so they’re just going to keep the alliance together so they don’t have that going against either of them in the final 2.

Other than that, the big story of the house is Vince’s insane paranoia as the season comes to an end. He is getting bad. He keeps asking Morgan basically the same thing that she’ll take him to the end. If he were smart, he would just be downplaying his comp wins and highlighting how much the jury hates him. That will do a lot more than just basically begging. He doesn’t seem to understand that begging doesn’t work.

Adrian tried that when he was on the block. Vince even tried it. But the only thing that saved Vince was the blockbuster. Nobody cared that he tried for 10 years. Literally nobody. They all had their own path to get to the show and nobody cares if someone had to try harder than, say, a recruit. Just assure her that she can beat you easily so she takes you and then beats you easily. If he decides to go a different route and take Ashley if he wins, that’s his choice as well.

Of course, he loses either way, but that’s the mess he put himself in.

Meanwhile, Ava is having her own pity party and still complaining about comps. The game has been about a balance of comps and social games longer than she’s been alive. Sure, earlier seasons, social could have a bigger part, but even back then, people like Janelle made it far because they were comp beasts.

And she makes jokes about how she’d need to like twirl things while balancing other stuff on her head, and she’s right. The game does have it’s share of carnival-style games where it’s just luck. But they literally have that for people like her lol. People who have zero athletic ability but should still have some shot at winning a comp. Are those comps pure luck? Absolutely. But it’s hard to make a challenging comp that is all mental while still being engaging to viewers. Does she think we want to sit around watching them play Sudoku?

That said, that would be a fun comp, but they’d still have to make it entertaining to watch so it would have to be a large board and require some athletics, so there is a sense of excitement watching it.

I’m rambling. Feeds are down most of the day. Live show tonight. Not sure if we’ll see round 1 of the HoH comp or not. They don’t tell us these things anymore.
