Rylie Surprised By Backlash Outside Of House

When Rylie stepped out of the house and sat for his brief interview with Julie Chen, he said something along the lines of ‘I appreciate all the love and support’ referring to those on the outside. It became quite clear that production didn’t really do a good job hinting at what he would experience on the outside before he left, because it was far from that.

There have been times when controversial people have been given a heads-up in the diary room about the general vibe. Production can’t tell them outright, but they ask them specific types of questions that allow some players to kind of piece together how the outside may be feeling about them. An example question may be “Do you worry about the public reaction to nominating someone like Rachel?”

I’m sure production tried, but it’s quite clear he didn’t grasp any of it, and according to insiders speaking to The Sun, production actually had to sit him down in a ‘situation room’ type of setting to slowly go over the fan reaction to his relationship with Katherine inside the house.

Anyone who has watched the feeds all summer will have seen the slow progression of Katherine showing very little interest in Rylie, to having a full-blown meltdown when he was evicted. It is no secret that being in the same environment with the same people for upwards of 90+ days straight can result in unlikely relationships. Nobody would have put America and Cory together before the BB25 season, and Leah even admitted to having a bit of a crush on Quinn toward the end of last season.

One of those resulted in a full-blown relationship while the other died out the second the season ended, so I think a lot of people were expecting the latter to happen here. Another Leah/Quinn where once they hit the outside, reality sets back in and they go on their way.

However, Rylie did not give up and kept love bombing Katherine every single day, and over the course of a few weeks, it became clear that Katherine actually had real feelings back for Rylie. Their developing into a relationship, or even the constant love bombing wasn’t the issue the fans had with this. The problem came when Rylie would say things like he would marry her outside of the house, despite what she wanted (something along those lines).

As someone who has watched virtually every minute production would show us of the pair this summer, I have absolutely seen his intensity and made comments about it during my live feed updates. He reminded me more of a high school kid who became infatuated with a crush – except the crush in HS wasn’t stuck in a small box with the person for a summer.

Katherine’s father and stepmother have started speaking out more, and they had more to say in an interview on TikTok (summed up by tvinsider). Her father said he has had to hold back quite a bit this summer, and also feels they have controlled the feeds to where when the couple started fighting, the feeds would cut and only return when they resolved their issue (he’s not entirely wrong here). Ashley even mentioned how odd it is for them to fight so often for such a new couple.

Katherine’s step-mother continued:

I foresee there may be some sort of reunion with the cast, and I can see them being friends after the show, but I don’t think a romantic relationship will develop after she’s out of the house. If it does, I think it will be short-lived.
Now, Katherine is going to have to accept that she’s a stepmom to two kids? I don’t see her being a stepmom at 23. If I’m not mistaken, I think Rylie is like 34,” Tracy continued. “I think that would be a deal-breaker for her. She’s just not in that stage in her life. I’m sure she’s not aware that he has a record, assuming all of that is correct.”

For the record – Rylie is 27, Katherine is 23. The number of kids he has is also unknown. There is a rumor of a potential baby mama, but his family denied that. As far as his record, The Sun also dug up some information on him, and it appears his record revolves around driving. He was reported as appearing in a ‘drunken condition’ while driving down the highway. He was arrested for public intoxication and operating a vehicle without a valid driver’s license (unsure why he wasn’t given an DUI).

His other arrests all stem from skipping court after other traffic violations (speeding, etc). I’m not sure if he knew that being summoned to court wasn’t an optional thing.

It is also noted that when asked who she would want pictures from if she won HoH, she said her (deceased) mother and her cat. And a third? Another of her mother.

That about wraps up the saga of Rylie. He was voted out of the house. When he is ready, I’m sure he will want to do some interviews to clear his name. I absolutely do not blame production for pausing interviews right now. That was the smartest thing to do, as he was completely blindsided by the reaction so it’s best if he is given a little time to reflect before speaking.
