Big Brother 26-Mels Friday Recap 7/9/24

Good morning, We’ve entered week 4 in the Big Brother house. There’s a new hoh but it isn’t going to last long since Quinn can and will take it over. This week will probably be a bit predictable but that’s OK. This past weeks excitement may sustain us until things pick up again.

The feeds have been cutting less and the episodes were good this week too. We already knew Quinn would probably be Americas nom, he would stay over Kenney and Tucker would go if he didn’t win the AI Arena comp. Even knowing this, it was still a really good episode.

I’m glad Tucker won because the Collective alliance needs some push back to keep it a game. They’ll eventually go after each other but it was starting to sound like it may not be anytime soon.

I don’t usually enjoy watching the hgs vote but last night was different. Angela managed to give Chuck (her husband) a honey do list, Tucker said he wanted to “evote” Quinn and and kept the vote from being unanimous. Joseph gave me a laugh when he called Julie “Chenbot” Has anyone called he that (to her face) since Howie in BB7?

Kenney was finally out of the game and Julie looked just as disappointed as we’ve been with him. This was her face as he explained why he wanted to leave after applying for 5 years:

Leah’s look was something last night. I had flashbacks to 80’s Jane Fonda work out tapes. I noticed Colby in the chat called it her “Leah-tard.” (Good one!)

The house activity was fairly slow on Wednesday and Thursday leading up to the live show. On Wednesday, MJ campaigned for Tucker to stay. (She’s trying to make an alliance with him) Brooklyn and Chelsie talked about how they’re working different people. Chelsie’s sticking to MJ and Brooklyn’s working Rubina. They’re both working Leah.

They also played Mafia and joked around alot.

Leah and Joseph had a long chat. They shit talked almost everyone in the house. They laughed about how they could vent to each other and had the same type of humor. They were basically being mean girls but I really enjoyed the conversation. This is when Quinn barged in right after they’d complained about how Quinns jokes arn’t funny but said they have to laugh anyway:

Is this a new duo?

It’s weird because individually, both of them annoy me but together, I kind of like it! They remind me a little bit of Britney and Monique from BB12. (Just the sparky humor towards the other hg’s)

Cam noticed the long convo too. He told T’kor and Kimo that Leah liked pudgy guys and thought maybe she was into Joseph. (Don’t worry, Kimo was there to tell Cam not to say that about Joseph. Kimo said not everyone could look like Cam) Cam said he didn’t mean it is an insult, just that Leah’s said that about guys. (Joseph actually likes Chelsie)

I always find the showmance stuff so ridiculous and annoying but this year it’s almost funny. I think it’s because we need a road map to keep up with it. Here’s an update:
Joseph likes Chelsie who likes Cam who likes Leah who likes Tucker who likes Rubina. Plus, Kimo has a crush on Tucker and Quinn has a crush on Leah. Got it?

On Thursday, Kenney asked to leave again and they all agreed to save America’s nominee. (Seriously, that was about it for Thursday)

Now, moving on to last night, Angela won the hoh. It sounded as if it was some type of knockout comp. Brooklyn and Angela had a chat afterwards. Brooklyn was curious as to why Angela picked her back to back.

Angela said Brooklyn was good with the whole house but she wasn’t. She said she needed to win it for safety. I can’t remember if I’ve mentioned how much I’m liking Brooklyn. Her game isn’t too messy, she’s personable and she’s connected to almost everyone. Her problem could be people like Quinn are realizing she’s a good player.

Yep, for now, I’m really rooting for the “married mother.”

Tucker was surprised the house didn’t vote out Quinn when they had the chance. Rubina finally got around to telling him everyone agreed they wouldn’t vote out America’s nominee. (Rubina really needs to step up her game talk)

Look, I get it. Some of you can’t stand Angela and/or Tucker. For me, they’re tame compared to older seasons. I’m also enjoying the fact that they want to play similar to old school BB. No, I’m not talking about the fights and cussing everyone out. (Although thats are fun too) I’m talking more about that ‘fuck it’ mentality. They’re both terrible players but they’re willing to make big moves and roll the dice. Tucker especially, is fine with making his targets known and saying ‘it’s a game.’ I like that he and Quinn can joke around about the fact that they’re targeting each other. They may piss you off but they’re also not going to just sit around doing nothing.

Angela is a mess. Her gameplay is atrocious but she really wants to play this game. I’ll take that any day over someone like Kenney. (Another unpopular take, I actually liked Tucker’s faux hawk last night) haha

Tucker actually has good insights on the game, especially for a recruit. He could be a good player if he didn’t talk. He understood the need to flush Quinns power and he sees the threat Quinn can be, even without the power up. He’s also clocked that Cedric, Chelsie and Cam are a trio.

Unfortunately, Tucker does talk and talk and talk and talk. With his comp wins, his self confidence and now a showmance with Rubina, he’ll have to win to stay in the house. That’s not exactly a good position to find yourself in the BB house. This image looks pretty intimate but no, they hadn’t kissed yet:

I’m glad we got to see more context from the house meeting on the episode. If nothing else, I had my suspicion confirmed. (I mean, who doesn’t like being right?) I’ve been saying both Cedric and Tucker were soet of correct in the things they were saying. Cedric felt he gave Tucker a heads up because he DID tell him use the veto on himself and said he didn’t think they had the votes.
Random shot of Kimo:

However, he DIDN’T tell Tucker the plan was off and that he was putting up MJ instead. Tucker just took it as a warning that their plan may not work. Tucker (who thinks he knows everything) thought they DID have the votes so he stuck to the plan, against Cedric’s advice.

You have to remember, they’d just made a 4 person alliance and Cedric agreed to do it. Cedric even said during his meeting with the pentagon “Tucker’s going to be so pissed,” so he never told Tucker the plan was MJ. Regardless, Tucker was a dumb ass for not using the veto on himself. It just happened to work out for him this time.
Chelsie’s not gonna be happy about Cedric flirting with MJ. (Haha)

Angela knows Quinn will take over her hoh. She still gets the room, the letter and most importantly, she gets safety for the week. Other than that, she has no power. I think it’s possible she may not get to play in next week’s HOH. (Don’t know for sure tho)

Quinn plans to do one on one’s this morning and so does Angela for some reason. (Angela did some last night) It may have been before she found out she didn’t make the noms at all.
MJ said she was nervous to talk to her. She’s been hung up on that thing that some players do where they decide who the competitors are and arn’t. Angela hasn’t been worth her time because she’s been convinced, Angela would never win another comp. Because of that, She hasn’t talked to her in a while. They talked, both faked it and it went ok.

When Quinn talked to Angela, he asked who she would like to go up. He was making it sound like he might respect her wishes. (He won’t) He told her he wasn’t putting her on the spot and he planned to ask that of everyone. (Doesn’t matter, I wouldn’t tell him shit he could use against me later)

Tucker, Rubina, T’kor, Kimo and Brooklyn made an alliance. (The 5 points?) Apparently, Brooklyn’s already told Chelsie about it because I saw Chelsie telling Cedric.

T’kor was hesitant to make something with Tucker. She feels like he’s too unpredictable (no shit?) and was hesitant to work with him. She’s right, but Tucker is actually loyal to them and Rubina. He’s not targeting them, so why not use him to get yourself further?

T’kor also doesn’t like the shomance thing. I get it but T’kor and Kimo are the most obvious duo in the house. (At least Rubina was planning to vote out Tucker if he’d lost the comp last night. I bet T’kor wouldn’t vote out Kimo)

In a way, T’kor is similar to Tucker. She has pretty good reads on the game but she does all the wrong things with the information. She also trusts Chelsie and Cedric way too much. (Sorry, duplicate image below)

Lets try this again:

T’kor and Kimo know about the pentagon alliance. (If I knew there was a smaller alliance inside my big alliance, I’d be looking for ways to break that up) She and Kimo need to be playing both groups for now. (I don’t know how much it will help them though since Chelsie already knows about it!)

Quinn did some camera talking but also met up with his main alliance. Quinn, Kimo and T’kor are the Visionaries. (Most of these alliance names are pretty stupid so far this season) It’s another alliance inside the Collective.

His original plan was to put up Tucker, Angela and either MJ or Rubina. Since he can’t do Angela, I’m assuming he’s going to go with Tucker, Rubina and MJ.
Quinn already didn’t trust MJ but all her campaigning for Tucker to stay over Kenney made it worse. She actually campaigned to Quinn to keep Tucker. (I don’t know how she thought she could get Quinn to keep him after that veto ceremony)

Speaking of the veto ceremony, (I haven’t recapped since it happened) here’s a couple shots of people’s reactions when Tucker use the veto on Angela. Here’s Leah:

And Joseph:

Angela getting the veto:

Brooklyn’s was the best:

I don’t know how many of y’all saw any of this but Joseph’s friends are hilarious. They were all over social media trying to help Joseph not get America’s vote to go on the block. They posted things like this:

And this:

The best one was a video which had past players like America, Janelle, Matt Hoffman and even Matt from the season. It had this sad sappy music in the background and they were all talking about how Joseph had changed since he’d gone into the house. They were pleading with him to stop being a dick and return to the old Joseph. The entire campaign was hilarious. This is just a screenshot from the end of the video:

I’m about to wrap this up because game talk will be starting soon on the feeds. (Not that it matters much because Quinn already knows what he’s going to do) Here’s some random tidbits before I finish:

Joseph warned Tucker to lay low for a while. Tucker said he would but knew he needed to win the HOH comp for safety. (Yeah, he really did need that hoh) With Joseph’s advice, Quinns power up and finding out from Rubina she hadn’t been telling him things, I think Tucker finally realized he’s not running the game.
I still love this image of Joseph talking to Leah!

A few quotes:
Cedric on putting up MJ instead of Quinn: “Every once in a while you need to stir things up. Otherwise, the rice gets burned.”

Cedric talking about Tucker: ” He’s just like Angela, but competitive.”
Angela about an alliance name Quinn told her: “It sounds exciting and naughty but I like that.”

Angela during her first hoh week: “Maybe there should be a parental warning for my grandbabies not to watch the episodes this week.”

I actually think it’s the wrong move to put Tucker on the block initially. I wouldn’t give him two chances to save himself but I’m not the hoh. I would expect to see Tucker, Rubina and MJ hit the block today. I guess MJ is gonna have to stop trying to form an alliance with Tucker now, huh? Have a great weekend everyone!
